Bajaj Auto to launch eight bikes by mid-2026

Bajaj Auto has unveiled an ambitious product expansion strategy, announcing plans to launch eight new motorcycles over the next four to five months. The aggressive rollout signals a major strategic push as the company looks to regain lost ground and strengthen its presence across key motorcycle segments.

The announcement follows seven product launches and updates since last Diwali, underlining Bajaj Auto’s renewed focus on product-led growth and sharper market positioning.

Focus on Reviving the Pulsar Brand

A central pillar of Bajaj Auto’s strategy is the revival of its iconic Pulsar brand, especially in the 150cc and above motorcycle segments. Addressing analysts during the company’s Q3 FY2026 earnings call, Executive Director Rakesh Sharma stated that rebuilding the Pulsar franchise remains a top priority.

Sharma revealed that Bajaj deliberately postponed certain launches despite increasing competition in the 125cc-plus category. The move was aimed at protecting festive-season sales and ensuring a more impactful product refresh. Early market feedback for recently launched premium Pulsar models has been encouraging, though the company says it is still too early to assess long-term performance.

Rapid-Fire Launch Schedule

Bajaj Auto plans to introduce two new motorcycles every month for the next two quarters, resulting in a significantly refreshed portfolio by mid-2026. Management expects this rapid product offensive to stabilise Pulsar’s market share within the next six months, after which the company will outline its next phase of growth.

New Brand Development in the 125cc Segment

Beyond Pulsar, Bajaj Auto is working on a new dedicated 125cc brand, positioned below Pulsar in pricing and brand hierarchy. This move is intended to create a clearer product ladder and help Bajaj compete more effectively in the high-volume commuter segment dominated by rivals.

Dominar Expansion for Global Markets

At the premium end, Bajaj sees strong growth potential in expanding its Dominar lineup, particularly for international markets. The company’s larger-displacement motorcycles have performed especially well overseas. Notably, Bajaj sells more 250cc-plus motorcycles in Mexico than in India, highlighting the growing importance of exports in future product planning.

Exploring Dual-Sport and Off-Road Motorcycles

Bajaj Auto is also evaluating opportunities in dual-sport and off-road motorcycle segments, which are gaining traction globally. These models could be launched under new brand identities or possibly revive dormant brand names from Bajaj’s portfolio, catering to the rising demand for adventure and lifestyle-oriented motorcycles.

Positive Industry Outlook

Backing its aggressive expansion plans, Bajaj Auto projects the Indian two-wheeler industry to grow by 12–15 percent in the near term. This optimistic outlook provides a supportive environment for the company’s upcoming launches.
