Bajaj Auto has confirmed that it will fully pass on the benefits of the revised GST structure to customers across its motorcycle and three-wheeler portfolio. Starting September 22, 2025, motorcycles with engine capacity under 350cc will attract only 18 percent GST, down from 28 percent earlier. However, bikes above 350cc will now be taxed at a higher rate of 40 percent, making them significantly more expensive.
GST Benefits for Bajaj Bikes Under 350cc
With the tax cut, Bajaj will offer savings of up to ₹20,000 on motorcycles under the 350cc bracket. This price reduction will cover multiple categories:
-
Pulsar series (125, 150, 160, 180, 220, NS160, NS200, RS200)
-
Platina range
-
CT models
-
Avenger 160 and 220
-
Dominar 250
This move will make Bajaj’s popular commuter and performance bikes more affordable, directly benefiting cost-conscious buyers.
KTM Models Under 350cc Also Get Cheaper
KTM, part of Bajaj’s portfolio, will also pass on the GST reduction to its sub-350cc motorcycles. Customers can expect price drops of up to ₹20,000 on:
-
KTM 160 Duke
-
KTM 200 Duke
-
KTM 250 Duke
-
KTM RC 200
-
KTM 250 Adventure
While exact revised prices are yet to be announced, larger savings are expected on premium models like the 250 Duke and 250 Adventure.
Premium Bikes Above 350cc Get Costlier
The story is different for larger motorcycles. Under the new GST regime, bikes above 350cc will now fall under the 40 percent tax slab, up from the earlier 31 percent (28% GST + 3% cess).
This will make the following models more expensive:
-
Bajaj Dominar 400
-
Pulsar NS400Z
-
KTM 390 range (390 Duke, 390 Adventure, 390 Adventure X, 390 Enduro, RC 390)
The hike is expected to make premium bikes less appealing for price-sensitive buyers, though enthusiasts may still look past the increase for performance and technology.
Industry-Wide Impact of GST 2.0
Bajaj is not alone in passing on GST benefits. Classic Legends has already announced price cuts for Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles, while BSA bikes, which feature higher-capacity engines, are expected to see a price rise under the new tax slab.
With two-wheeler sales being highly price-sensitive in India, the GST 2.0 move could boost demand for sub-350cc motorcycles while slowing premium bike sales.
