Ather Energy is gearing up to unveil the updated versions of its popular electric scooters, the 450X and 450S, on January 4. These models, known for their sporty performance and engaging ride quality, are expected to receive a modest refresh, given that the 450X was last updated a few years ago and the 450S made its debut less than two years ago.
What’s New for the Ather 450X and 450S?
While significant changes to the battery, motor, chassis, or overall design seem unlikely, Ather is expected to introduce a host of new features. Key among these is the potential integration of the brand’s latest operating software, AtherStack 6, aimed at enhancing user experience.
In a recent social media post, Ather’s co-founder Tarun Mehta hinted at a feature called “Track-Tion,” sparking speculation about the addition of traction control to these scooters. This aligns with the trend set by Ather’s Rizta model. The updated scooters might also inherit Magic Twist, Ather’s active regenerative braking system, further elevating their performance.
Additionally, the refreshed lineup is likely to offer new color options to appeal to a wider audience. However, with these updates, prices are expected to rise by ₹3,000 to ₹6,000.
