Following the debut of the RS 457 sportbike last year, Aprilia has introduced the Tuono 457, its naked bike equivalent, at EICMA 2024.
Is the Tuono 457 Just a Naked Version of the RS 457?
In essence, yes—but that’s not a drawback. The Tuono 457 shares the same 457cc engine, delivering an output of 47.6 hp and 43.5 Nm of torque. It also features a 6-speed gearbox, and while a slipper clutch and bidirectional quickshifter are available as optional extras, the core electronic rider aids, frame, suspension, and braking systems are identical to those found on the RS model.
Distinctive Features of the Tuono 457
One of the most noticeable changes in the Tuono 457 is its redesigned headlight. While it retains the three-pod configuration seen in its RS counterpart, the overall design is unique. The Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) are smaller compared to those on the RS 457, and the central headlight pod presents a different look that sets the Tuono apart from the larger Aprilia sportbike family.
Additionally, the Tuono 457 is equipped with a slightly smaller 12.7-liter fuel tank, compared to the 13-liter tank found on the RS 457. Both bikes weigh in at 175 kg, maintaining parity in that regard.
Accessories and Availability
A variety of accessories will be offered for the Tuono 457, including saddlebags, tank bags, brake and clutch lever protectors, sintered brake pads, and a pillion seat cowl, among others. The Tuono 457 is expected to launch in India early next year, likely priced below the RS 457, which retails for approximately Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
