Aprilia Tuono 457 Launched in India at ₹3.95 Lakh

Aprilia Tuono 457

Aprilia has introduced the Tuono 457 in India at an ex-showroom price of ₹3.95 lakh, with bookings open for a token amount of ₹10,000. As the streetfighter sibling of the RS 457, it features a more upright riding stance for enhanced comfort. Test rides and deliveries are set to commence from the first week of March 2025 at select dealerships across the country.

Aggressive Yet Comfortable Design

Designed as a naked sportbike, the Tuono 457 prioritizes rider comfort without compromising on performance. It features a single-piece handlebar positioned closer to the rider, replacing the RS 457’s clip-ons, along with slightly forward-set footpegs for a relaxed posture. Available in two striking colors—Piranha Red and Puma Grey—the Tuono 457 retains its signature Aprilia styling with an aggressive yet road-friendly design.

Performance & Powertrain

The Tuono 457 is powered by the same 457cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine as the RS 457, delivering 47.6PS at 9,400rpm and 43.5Nm at 6,700rpm. However, it gets a larger 44-tooth rear sprocket, improving throttle response at lower revs. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch, ensuring smooth gear shifts.

Advanced Features & Technology

The motorcycle comes equipped with a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster, offering Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and call/SMS alerts. It also boasts full LED lighting, switchable traction control, and three riding modesEco, Sport, and Rain—allowing riders to tailor the performance as per road conditions. A bi-directional quickshifter is available as an optional accessory for an even more engaging ride.

Chassis & Suspension

The Tuono 457 rides on a preload-adjustable inverted front fork and monoshock, ensuring superior handling and ride quality. Braking duties are managed by a 320mm front disc and 230mm rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety. It rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in 110-section front and 150-section rear tyres, offering confident grip on both city streets and highways. The seat height remains 800mm, and it shares the split-seat setup and tail section with the RS 457, while weighing in at 175kg (kerb weight).

A Practical Streetfighter with a Racing Pedigree

For those seeking the thrill of the RS 457 without the aggressive riding stance, the Tuono 457 presents itself as a more comfortable and practical alternative. Whether for daily commutes or long highway rides, it offers a balanced blend of performance and versatility. Entering the sub-500cc streetfighter category, it goes up against formidable rivals like the KTM 390 Duke, Yamaha MT-03, and Zontes GK 350.

With its race-inspired DNA, comfortable ergonomics, and premium features, the Aprilia Tuono 457 is set to make a strong statement in the Indian two-wheeler market.
