Kawasaki has officially launched the 2026 Kawasaki Z1100 in India at Rs 12.79 lakh (ex-showroom), just weeks after its global debut in Europe. The new Z1100 now becomes Kawasaki’s flagship naturally aspirated supernaked, replacing the long-discontinued Z1000 and bringing major updates in performance, electronics, and overall refinement.
Engine, Performance and Mechanicals
Powering the 2026 Kawasaki Z1100 is a 1,099cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine shared with the Ninja 1100SX. The motor delivers 136hp at 9,000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 7,600rpm, paired to a 6-speed gearbox featuring Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) for clutchless upshifts and downshifts. The motorcycle is built around the same main frame as its sport-touring sibling, ensuring a balance of stability and agility for everyday riding as well as spirited performance.
Suspension is handled by fully adjustable Showa units at both ends, allowing riders to fine-tune the setup according to their riding style. Braking duties are managed by high-spec Tokico calipers, while the bike rides on 120/70-ZR17 (front) and 190/50-ZR17 (rear) tyres—identical Dunlop Sportmax Q5A rubber seen on the popular Z900.
Interestingly, the Indian model retains the same 221kg kerb weight as its European counterpart despite typically required additions like the saree guard. This suggests Kawasaki has kept weight gain in check, maintaining performance integrity.

The more premium Z1100 SE variant, featuring higher-spec components, is not being offered in the Indian market at launch.
Price Positioning and Rivals
At Rs 12.79 lakh, the Kawasaki Z1100 is positioned aggressively in the litre-class supernaked segment. Its closest competition is the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP, priced at Rs 13.29 lakh, making the Kawasaki a more value-oriented option while offering competitive power, premium hardware, and richer electronics.
