Toyota has rolled out the 2025 update for its Urban Cruiser Taisor, bringing enhanced safety features and a new paint option to the compact SUV. Alongside these upgrades, prices have seen a slight hike — the Taisor now starts at ₹7.89 lakh (ex-showroom), up by ₹12,000 from the earlier base price, while the range-topping variant is priced at ₹13.19 lakh, marking a ₹28,000 increase.
Six Airbags for All Variants
Previously, six airbags were exclusive to the higher trims, with the entry-level versions getting only two. For 2025, Toyota has made six airbags standard across the entire Taisor lineup, aligning it with its sibling, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, which recently received a similar upgrade. While Maruti’s price revision was around 0.5%, Toyota’s increment stands closer to 1%.
New Bluish Black Colour Option
The refreshed Taisor also gets a striking new ‘Bluish Black’ shade, offering a darker and richer alternative to the Fronx’s signature Nexa Blue.
Engine and Transmission Options
The powertrain choices remain unchanged. Buyers can pick between:
-
1.2-litre, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol — 90hp, with a 5-speed manual or an optional 5-speed AMT.
-
1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol — 100hp, paired with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
-
1.2-litre petrol-CNG — 78hp, available only with a manual gearbox in the base E variant.
With the added safety kit and new colour option, the 2025 Taisor becomes a more attractive proposition for compact SUV buyers, particularly those prioritising safety without stretching their budget.
