Porsche has introduced the updated 992.2 911 Carrera S, featuring design cues from the Turbo model and a power upgrade of 30hp. Available in both coupe and convertible versions, the refreshed 911 Carrera S slots between the standard Carrera and the high-performance 911 GTS T-Hybrid, offering performance comparable to the outgoing GTS.
Enhanced Powertrain and Performance
The 2025 Carrera S is powered by an upgraded 3.0-liter flat-six turbocharged engine, now producing 480hp, up from 450hp. This boost is attributed to newly developed turbochargers and an optimized cooling system. The coupe accelerates from 0-100kph in just 3.3 seconds and achieves a top speed of 308kph. For comparison, the 541hp GTS T-Hybrid accomplishes the same sprint in 3 seconds. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Cabriolet and Driving Dynamics
The Cabriolet version shares the same upgrades, including larger 408mm front and 380mm rear brake discs borrowed from the GTS, ensuring exceptional stopping power. Optional ceramic brakes are available, alongside a sports suspension package that lowers ride height by 10mm and includes rear-axle steering. Enhanced hydraulic dampers improve precision, while revised steering delivers sharper handling for spirited driving.
Interior and Exterior Updates
Inside, the 911 Carrera S features a familiar layout with optional leather accents for the dashboard, door panels, and seat bases, setting it apart from the entry-level Carrera.
Externally, the facelifted model adopts a more aggressive stance, with wider rear arches and larger air intakes inspired by the 911 Turbo. It also comes equipped with staggered alloy wheels—20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear—and a sports exhaust system with silver tailpipe finishes. Porsche’s Torque Vectoring Plus system, utilizing an electronic rear differential for optimized torque distribution, is included as standard, a feature not available on the base Carrera.
India Availability
Porsche India has yet to confirm when the updated 992.2 911 Carrera S will arrive locally. Currently, the standard Carrera is priced at ₹1.99 crore, while the GTS T-Hybrid is available for ₹2.75 crore.
The 2025 911 Carrera S facelift exemplifies Porsche’s commitment to blending performance and luxury, ensuring it remains a benchmark in the sports car segment.
